No. 1126
the person on cells bursting from too much water is absolutely correct.
Distilled water is very bad in large quantities, and bad in any amount anally. When exposed to highly distilled (and de-ionized) water, blood enters a hypotonic state. Tonic is pretty much everything that is not just pure water. In this circumstance, osmosis causes a shift in water--from outside of cells to inside, in an effort to balance the purity of the water.
In the case of distilled water, think of a short circuit on a power outlet, and this is roughly what you get. The cells will absorb much more water than they can handle as they attempt to reach equilibrium with the solution of blood which surrounds them.
Mix this with the tendency of the large intestine and the rectal cavity to absorb water (as this is really their only job beyond holding fecal matter) to return to the bloodstream, and you have a calamity in the waiting.
Granted, the adult human body contains about 4-6 litres of blood to begin with, as well as being ~80% water, so nothing major will happen overnight--but, if enemas or ice penetration becomes habitual, please use tap water (for the sake of cost in money and in health).
