No. 8729
Just for posterity's sake, I'm going to repost the proposed RP Code of Conduct that an anon posted in the prior RP thread. While there's no way to enforce it, everyone'll be happier if you try and adhere to it. :)
~~~
1. Respect your partner.
a. All parties should receive some sort of pleasure out of the RP. If it seems as if your partner(s) are not enjoying it, ask. It never hurts.
b. Note on girls: Yes, they're rare. However, they're here for the same purpose. Don't scare them off by being amazed at the small population and clinging to them for life.
2. Don't try to force somebody to do something they don't like.
a. If you think something might bother your partner, ask first.
b. Do not try to slip in a fetish/something that they said no to.
c. If this is a deal breaker for you, admit to it, and move on. This has occurred plenty of times.
3. If they cannot RP at the time, don't pester.
a. Do not get angry.
b. Do not attempt to 'force' an RP at inopportune times if they said no.
c. Ask a few times, then leave it at that.
4. Do not pester for personal information if the person doesn't want to give it.
a. If you are going to, preface it with "If I am too forward with this..." This tends to soften the blow.
b. If you ask something like this, and your partner changes subject/leaves immediately, you most likely scared them.
5. You may use parentheses to suggest things or speak OOC.
a. Use () to ask about positions, or to request that your partner initiate something.
6. Do not leave in the middle of an RP without an excuse.
a. If you do have to leave, give advance warning.
b. If you leave without warning, have a good reason for why you left so suddenly.
c. There are VERY few reasons why you just have to bolt without saying a word mind you.
7. Use proper English.
a. This means grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
b. It takes a few seconds to make sure you're typing correctly.
8. More is better. Be creative, use adjectives, and move actions along in the RP slowly for a more satisfying experience.
a. Elaborate! Embellish! Expatiate! This means use descriptors!
b. You're painting a picture with words, RPing is an art unto itself.
(P.S.: Since I realized I forgot to mention it before, I'm a guy.)
